this morning i woke up at 6:00 and i went to take joe out and he started barking when we got into the hallway. i was kinda scared but then i realized that he was barking at darric's jacket that was hanging over one of the kitchen table chairs. he's such a good watch dog. after that i got in the shower and got ready. my poor honey had to go to work last night at 11:00 and didn't get home till 4:00 in the morning. so he was still sleeping while i was getting ready. i left and went to my mom's house at about 7:20. i gave my honey a kiss and went on my way. my mom was just finishing the dishes when i got there. i asked her if she thought i would have to go to the bathroom at the doctor. she said she didn't think so, so i went to the bathroom. then we left and headed all the way out to henderson. it takes us about 30 minutes to get out there. i guarantee that when i'm in labor it will take a lot less time.
when we got to the doctor's i knew that i had to sign in so i did. i was getting to be a pro at all this. we weren't there for very long and they called me back. one of the nurses, not the one i had last time, weighed me. then she told me that i had to pee in a cup. i just laughed at my mom and she apologized to me. that's ok because i could still pee. i'm getting to be good at this too.
first i wrote my name on the cup then i went pee in it and put it in the metal box thing. then i washed my hands and went into room three where my mom and the nurse were at. the nurse took my blood pressure then she had a paper for me to fill out with just my insurance info on it and my address and stuff. then she told me when i was done with that to get undressed and put the little gown thing on and then she left. i filled out the paper and then i took all my clothes off and put the wee itty bitty nighty on. it was made of material. the last time i went to dr. fischer all i had to put on was the paper thing. i just stood there for awhile then i finally squirmed myself up into the bed. and then waited and waited. and about 25 minutes later the dr finally came in.
i had dr jones this time. he's a black dr. he just talked to me at first. i was 13 weeks and every wednesday will be another week. then he told me about my blood. i didn't have herpes or hiv but i do have b negative blood. he explained all about the different blood types. most of which i did not understand. from what i understood, me having negative blood my white blood cells will try to kill the babies red blood cells. so i get to have this shot called rhogam. i have to have one at 28 weeks and once if i bleed and one after i have the baby. that didn't sound like much fun.
after that he came and listened to my heart and checked other things and then we got to hear the baby's heartbeat. he said it sounded good. then i had to put my feet in the horrible stirrups. he asked me if i had a pap smear before, i said yes. then he was telling me about the pelvic exam. he said he had to put his hand in there and feel to see if there was enough room for when i deliver the baby i guess. and he said so if you feel a fist don't be alarmed. i got very scared right then. a black man's fist is probably as big as a baby's head. that could hurt.
so i laid down and he did the pap smear first. he told me what he was doing all through everything. it didn't even hurt this time. the first time it hurt. then it felt like he just stuck his fingers in there and kinda felt around. and that was it. it didn't even hurt. i was very glad that was over. this doctor exaggerates. he told us that i should make my next appointment and then my mom made and appointment for herself a checkup.
after that we left and came back to her house and then i had to go to work. whu. the highlight of my day. i had to work till 6:00 because i was about an hour and 20 minutes late. when i got home after arguing about it i made barbecued chicken and mashed potatoes and gravy. we didn't eat till a little after 8:00 but oh well. the final seinfeld was on tonight, i watched some of it but that was enough for me.
