We bought these nails at the new Sears Grand for $1.99 each. It took longer to get the nails on then it did for them all to fall off. They couldn't do anything with the nails on except hold their fingers out straight.
Last night the girls spent the night with Jacob at Jodie's house. Today at 11:00, we all met at the Whitney Ranch Rec Center to play in their pool park. The kids had a lot of fun. Madi mostly just rolled from her belly to her back in the shallowest part. Jacob and Mackenzie explored the place by themselves. Mackenzie liked the slide the most and got brave enough to go under the waterfall for a few seconds. They also liked the cups that filled up with water and then dumped out, even though they were too chicken to stand under them for very long. We had lunch there, swam a little longer and then it was time to go home. Jacob came with us and stayed the night.
Friday, when everyone got off work, we went to Grandma and Grandpa Carter's to drop the girls off for the weekend. Then Vince and Alana came and picked us up. First we took Peanut (their dog) to a doggie den place then we headed for Big Bear California. We didn't get there until about 9:30 that night. We were hungry. We went and checked into our lodge. We had our own little place with 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a small kitchen. After we unpacked our luggage we went and found a place to eat. It was some kind of Italian kitchen place. The food was pretty good.
The next morning, Vince had set up an off-road ride. We went and had McDonalds for breakfast and then went to the off-road place. I was a little nervous because I didn't know what to expect. The tour guy showed up in his six wheel vehicle and we all jumped in. Vince sat up front. We had to stop and get a little gas and when the guy got back in the jeep he started talking to Vince about some wild mushrooms. That made me a little more nervous.
We first just drove up the mountain and he went up the side of the mountain a couple times. I was a little scared at first but it made us all laugh. We started driving up the mountain off the road and he went kind of fast to make it up the hills. He yelled out "scratchies" so we would duck our heads and not get hit by the branches. That was funny. We got to the very top of the hill and he stopped for us to get out and see the view. He pointed a bunch of stuff out to us, but we couldn't really tell where he was pointing. But, it sounded interesting. He also told us about some bug that would attack ants but we never saw it. We got back in the jeep and rode around some more. We did Mr. Toad's Wild Ride and the Bullring. It was fun. I don't think I really got scared that whole time. His jeep could do some pretty cool things. I was kind of disappointed when it was over.
We went back to the lodge and got our bikes and then we headed over to the slopes. We weren't too sure about them but then we found out there were a bunch of different trails to go down. After we got some bottles of water, we got our bikes out and got on the ski lift and went to the very top of the hill. About four hours later and after losing Vince, we finally made it back to the truck. Vince was already there. I was not very happy. It took way too long and I was tired.
We went to the lodge and cleaned up and went to Senor Frogs (or something like that). It was a Mexican restaurant. It was very good. Everybody was pleased with the food. When we left there, we were going to go bowling but there were no open lanes. So we just went back to the lodge and played poker.
The next morning, we got up, got ready and then started heading out. We stopped at some breakfast place. The food was pretty good. From there we left and headed home.
