and by the sound of things, you would never guess there were 3 kids in this house. other than the sound of spongebob and squidward arguing about krabby patties, it's nice and quiet. all three kiddos are still sound asleep. (i turn cartoons on just in case max wakes up while i'm in the shower.) oops. spoke too soon. the silence is now being broken. madison's rising from our bed - she climbed in early this morning. max is shuffling his feet my way. last night was his first night sleeping in underwear. he's dry! mackenzie is still zonked out.
so, flashback to friday. mackenzie and madison took orders for a bake sale. saturday, they spent all day baking with grandma carter. that night we had dinner over there for dave's birthday. madison stayed the night and mackenzie came home with us to watch the kids choice awards - hosted by jack black. (i tried to put myself in a 9 year old's shoes as i watched, but still didn't enjoy it that much) sunday morning we delivered some of the baked goods and mackenzie and madi collected the funds. came home and darric bbq'd us lunch. i made apple dumplings from a recipe found on the pioneer woman. i've been wanting to do some of her recipes. they were YUMMY and i'm not a big "apple dessert" fan. later that night, the kids and i went to my mom and dad's new pad for some dinner. that was yummy too. max was not happy to leave. he started crying with his hands over his eyes. he wanted to go down to jodie's to play on her toys. then, as we were driving, he cries out softly, "i need grraaaandmaaaa. she's my best friend." it almost made me turn around and take him back.
