yesterday we had a little housewarming/swimming party for dave. everybody had fun swimming until we noticed billy in the pool with no floaties on. that gave us all a good scare. and poor little tommy slipped on the wet tile and hit his head. the day did get better. billy got back in the pool and didn't seem to be very scared of it. max (who was terrified of the pool at first) was going laps around it in no time, thanks to aunt jan. he must have gone around there at least ten times, getting faster and braver each time. (he was holding on to the side) when it was time to get out, he was not happy. he wanted "to go to dave's house to swim." the girls were in the pool from the second we got there until it was time to leave. they both love swimming... and jumping in the pool, which always freaks me out.
after we got home last night and the girls were occupied with the computer, max finally got his own turn with the wii. he first tried tennis and actually hit the ball a couple times, then he moved onto his favorite... bowling. he did really good, scoring an average 77 points per game. he kept saying "that's the spirit." (don't know where he learned that from.) with every frame he got closer and closer to the tv and we'd have to pull him back. he tried a behind-the-back-throw...
he also tried a behind-the-chair-throw and controller-inside-of-bag-throw. but he did the best when he stood on his little table to throw. that's when he got his first strike.
his mii is pretty funny. the girls set it up for him.
