and the first week of school is just about over. so far, everything has gone well. (except for the dead battery) max had his pre-k on monday and wednesday.
he worked on the letters A and B and the numbers 1 and 2. mackenzie has come home from school everyday with a new story that her teacher has shared with them. her teacher likes to tell stories. lots and lots of stories. madison is loving third grade. her and her girlfriends from last year still find each other on the playground. we celebrated the first day with a trip to wienerschnitzel for chocolate dipped cones. they were not that easy to eat.
there are still only two girls in the class. (madi is on the far left, you can see her in the mirror) mackenzie had her first volleyball class on wednesday. she LOVED it and picked up everything really fast. this class is only four weeks long then we're going to try and sign her up for a girl's volleyball league when it's over. max had boxing two nights this week. i didn't take him on thursday, he had enough sparring on wednesday. and on tuesday, he was playing around, threw himself on the ground, like he got knocked out and accidentally got stepped on. right on his face. he stood up and walked right over to me. without shedding a single tear, he tells me... "i want to go home" there were only a few minutes left, so we came home.
we attended open house. we were a little late because we came straight from kenzie's volleyball. but it worked out because we got to skip the whole multipurpose room speech and went straight to the classrooms. and today, when we pick the girls up from school, we are going to surprise them with a trip to utah for the corn festival. or, as max calls it... corn festibal. he's been able to keep this secret for a couple days now. i think they're going to be EXCITED.
