On Thursday I sent Darric a text asking him to take off Friday (since the kids had the day off for Nevada Day) so we could go out to a corn maze in Moapa Valley. He must have liked my idea because he stayed home on Friday. Then after picking up Max from Joey's house and picking up the bread bowls from Great Harvest and waiting a little longer for Madison to finish getting ready, we headed an hour out of town.
It was a cloudy day. We got some rain at home that morning. And some more as we were heading back from our little trip. But only a sprinkle or two while we were at the Corn Maze. We had no idea what to expect. I was a bit worried the whole thing would be super cheesy, but it wasn't. And it wasn't really cheap either, it cost $5 a person to get in and then $7 a person to do the corn maze.
There was a "petting zoo" with piggies, two cows, goats, a horse and an alpaca that didn't like Kenzie.
We attempted the corn maze, but kept going down dead ends. Then we realized the pig races were about to start so we made our way back to the entrance so we didn't miss them.
They had two pig races. The first one, the pigs were all dressed in costumes as super heroes. They were pretty cute. Then they did another race with two pigs dressed as Hillary and Trump. Hillary won.
Darric couldn't wait for the races to be over so that he could get a burger. Us girls all had grilled cheese sandwiches and Max got a hot dog. We ate fast because there were a couple bees that wanted some of Max's ketchup.
After lunch we went through the hay maze. And we all made it out. Mostly because we could see over the bales of hay.
There were three quick games of tug of war. Darric won. Then Max went around the pedal car track once. On one of the smaller cars with the seat pushed all the way up.
It was a bit warm and muggy out, so we decided to leave after that. It was a fun little afternoon family outing.
