Our annual pumpkin carving party was on Friday the 28th this year at 5:30. Those is attendance... the five of us. Mom and dad. Jodie and her kids. Josh (for a little while), Paisley and Penelope. Jen, Dave, Mason, Grace and Ted joined us too.
Jen ordered the bread bowls this year and I picked them up. We did 10 bowls and 2 dozen of their rolls. I think only half of the bread was eaten. (just making notes for next year :) ) I made spinach dip and Kenzie made some Oreo monster eye-balls. There were five different soups. Zuppa Toscana, taco soup, creamy chicken and wild rice, green chile enchilada and a new cheeseburger soup (Darric thinks it's a keeper - I was too full to try it).
After dinner, we got to the pumpkin carving. My kids all had their designs printed out from home. Mason was still deciding on and printing his right before we started carving. I'm pretty sure he's the last one to get a design every year.
Max's design was a little big for his pumpkin, so I just drew it on for him. I also drew on Beckam's and Posie's. I think next year we should make a rule that the kids have to draw their design on, no printing out templates. Max did the majority of his pumpkin. I think Darric just helped a little at the end. Madison was the last one done, she had some shaving to do on her dog, so we'll give her a pass this year.
The girls having a mini cupcake party.
In addition to the mini cupcakes, Posie also enjoyed one of Kenzie's Oreo balls and some of Jen's jello. It's a good thing she didn't know about grandma's bread.
We put the pumpkins in the front of the house this year because there were thorns from the trees in the backyard. Grace stepped on one in the house and those suckers are huge.
And here are this year's pumpkins from left to right: Grace's Tigger, Grandma/Beckam's Jack Skellington, Max's scary Jack, Jamie/Jodie/Posie's Minnie Mouse, Jen/Penelope's Snow White, Jodie/Piper's Peter Pan, Jodie/Paisley's Tinkerbell, Kenzie's volleyball, Mason's Flash, Quincy's Baby Dory and Madison's labrador retriever.

Darric was hoping to leave by 8:30 so we'd be home in time for him to watch the new episode of Gold Rush. We were about 20 minutes late, but the show's an hour long so he didn't miss much. Madison and Max were happy to bring Beckam and Quincy home with them for a sleepover.
