I was up at 7:00 again to peel potatoes and get them in the crock pot. Then, while I showered, Darric and Max ran to the store to get a newspaper. At 9:00 the Macy's Day Parade began. The Muppets were the opening number. Waffles were made for those of us that didn't already have a bowl of cereal.
We loaded all the food into the car, stopped at Maverik for drinks and arrived at the Bertrand's house just after 1:00. Jan and I each snapped a picture of the food and then everyone dug in. It was the nine of us this year. Six of us at the big table and Max, Jayce and Darian at a folding table. (We won't call it the kid's table because Darian was a little bitter about being older than Madi and having to sit there)
The food was yummy. Jan made the turkey, gravy, stuffing, hard boiled eggs, rolls, a salad, the pecan pies and the pumpkin pies. Darian made a butterscotch spice pie. And we had Kenzie's mud too.
After we ate (the first time) we looked through the ads and played a few rounds of Things. Darric took advantage of Jan teasing Darian about looking at the bra ads and used that for some of his answers. And we could usually guess Darian and Jayce's answers because they were things with weird names that none of the rest of us have heard of.
We left the Bertrand's at 7:30. Max stayed the night there. We dropped Darric and the food off at home. While I put some of the food away, Darric cleaned up the glass from the cake plate topper that was knocked off the counter by one of the dogs (Kobe). Then the girls and I went to the Target on Stephanie to meet up with Jen, mom and Jacob. We were in there for awhile but not as long as we usually are. I only ended up getting a $3 pillow, some batteries, hand lotion for my purse and a couple little things the girls threw in the cart that they said they'd pay me back for. (Grandma Becky also got Kenzie the Neutrogena Light Therapy Mask - she had to try it out as soon as we got home)
We swung by Starbucks for drinks and then went into Best Buy next. There were a lot of people in there and the line was pretty long, so we left after a quick walk around the store. We didn't really have any reason to go to Toys R Us, so we came home after that.
