Max pulled out another tooth (a big one, on the bottom) before bed Monday night. Tuesday he brought home a loom project he made in his STEAM class. He had soccer practice on Tuesday and Thursday at Cactus Wren park from 6:30 to 8:00. The temps have dipped back down a bit so we had to take our jackets and blanket again.
WED | 22 Kenzie had her first day of work today. Right after work she had to go to practice at Green Valley. She still wasn't feeling well so she only did a little bit. Madi had to keep stats at the boys' Sierra Vista game.
THU | 23 Mackenzie started getting sick on her way home from Colorado about a week ago. She started out with the throw ups. Then that turned into a cough with a fever. Thursday morning, she topped it off by waking up with pink eye. So at 8 am, the two of us went to SW Medical. The physician's assistant said she had an upper respiratory infection, ear infection and conjunctivitis. She got three Rx's from the Target pharmacy to help her feel better. She's been missing school here and there since she got sick, but she was really bummed about missing school today. The police department was putting on a two day assembly for the juniors and seniors. It's called Every 15 Minutes and they reenact a drunk driving accident. Take a person away in a helicopter and record the entire process. They also record what happens to the drunk driver after he is taken from the scene of the accident. Then the next day they show everything that went on to the students. She was feeling well enough for school on Friday so luckily she didn't have to miss all of it.
Today Madison went to her first day of work. She filled in for Kenzie. Max had soccer practice from 6:30 to 8:00. Right after I had fallen asleep that night, Darric happily woke me back up to inform me Arizona lost to Xavier. I had Arizona as the winner on my NCAA championship bracket. I'm sure he loved rubbing it in since I celebrated when Duke (his pick) lost last week.
FRI | 24 Darric noticed a screw in my rear driver side tire. grrr. So Friday morning, right after I dropped Max off at school, I went over to wait for Discount Tire to open. About 30 minutes later, after the tire was fixed and I was informed that I'm almost due for new tires, I was on my way home (after stopping to get a bagel).
I earned a free Starbucks drink, so before heading to Max's school, I got myself an iced white chocolate mocha. Venti... because it was free. Later that afternoon I decided to get stuff together for a yard sale. Our garage was cluttered with so much junk (once again) and the girls were in need of some money, so a yard sale was the perfect solution.
SAT | 25 I got the girls up at 7:00 to get our yard sale going. Madi wasn't as quick to get up as Kenzie was. Max and Kenzie walked our signs down to the corners of the neighborhood entrance. Eventually Madi joined Kenzie and they took care of all the customers that came. Even the creepy ones that wanted Kenzie to help them carry some chairs. (She was smart enough to have her dad come out and help) They were making money so they wanted to stay out there as long as possible. I think they finally wrapped it up around 2:00 when they reached $300. They sold Madi's bed and nightstand (Darric was asked to deliver the bed), her old red desk, Max's Lego table, the punching bag, an old bike and trainer and much more. Everyone wanted a bargain and Kenzie was usually fine with lowering the price for them.
Just before 9:00 Darric took Max to get his hair cut. A little while later I got a text from Darric "hard part. deal with it." I had no idea what he was talking about. And apparently he had no idea what the stylist was talking about when she asked them if she should do a hard part. Now we all know what a hard part is and we all know that Max pulls it off very well. After returning home, Max went right to the couch. He didn't feel well and ended up missing his soccer game that afternoon.
SUN | 26 Max still wasn't feeling great today. Fever and little bit of a cough. The girls took longer to get out of bed and tend to their yard sale this morning. I ran and got a dozen bagels to help get us moving. Sundays aren't great yard sale days. There were only a few people that came and they only made $33. Darric and Max went to deliver the bed over by Green Valley HS. I organized all of the tools in the garage and cleaned out a box of old stuff that we probably hadn't gone through for 15 years. We wrapped up the yard sale around 10:30. Bagged up everything that didn't sell and pulled it back into the much cleaner garage. That afternoon we went over to the Bertrand's for hots and brauts.
