DAY ONE | THU MAR 02 I dropped her off at the Southwest terminal where she met up with the rest of her team. She sat next to Maya on the airplane. That night for dinner they ate at some Italian place. They stayed at the Doubletree in Brisbane, CA. She roomed with Kenzi and Nae.
DAY TWO | FRI MAR 03 For breakfast they had the usual, granola and bananas. They played at the San Mateo Event Center. Starting at 8:00 this morning. Against NPJ 18 black. They won 25-9, 25-17. They played again around 10:00. Won against Core Elite. The final score was 25-20, 25-18. Their last game was around 1:00 against Academy Gold. They went three sets this time and won with a final score of 17-25, 25-19, 1-13.
DAY THREE | SAT MAR 04 Today their first game was at 9:00, but they had to work the game at 8:00. They lost their first game against Spiketown 17. The final score was 7-25, 16-25 (another one of those super crappy games). Around 11:00 they played against SG Elite 18 and won with a final score of 25-23, 25-21. They lost their last game against Marin Jrs Black 18. The final score was 22-25, 25-17, 15-12.
That night they had dinner at Emmy's Spaghetti Shack.
DAY FOUR | SUN MAR 05 Today was a good day. They won against all three teams and ended up winning first place in the Silver Bracket. Which had them finishing 9th in the tournament. The final scores were 23-25, 25-19, 15-8 against Delta Valley 18. 25-16, 25-12 against A4 Volley 18 Black. And 17-25, 25-22, 15-7 against SG Elite 18.
After the tournament was over, they had time to kill before they had to head to the airport. So they went to San Francisco and explored Pier 39. Had dinner at Boudin.
Their flight was supposed to be at 8:20 pm but it got delayed by about an hour. And then delayed again. They finally left around 10:10 pm. While they waited in the airport, there was a dance off between some of her teammates and some of team Exposure (another Vegas team). Kenzie sat next to Tehani on the way home. They landed back in Vegas around 11:40. We were there waiting at the baggage claim when they arrived. We didn't get home until after midnight. Luckily Kenzie didn't have to go to school until later the next day, so she got to sleep in a bit.
Kenzie's stats from this tournament: 22 sets played, 240 attempts, 104 kills, 15 errors, 0.371%. 58 digs, 9 blocks 11 aces and a passing average of 2.16.
