Around 10:30 this morning, the four of us left, picked up Eli and headed out to Lake Mead. We paid our $20 to get in and then headed to Boulder Beach. It wasn't too busy when we got there. We parked and I pulled some chairs out. The kids eventually removed their shoes and socks and got in the water. Max would have gone all the way in if I would have let him (we had other plans afterwards). They searched for seashells. And found lots of seashells. They skipped rocks and Madison tried to catch some photos of the seagulls, but she ended up scaring them all off.
(HERE's a short video from the lake)
There was also a little bit of sunbathing too before we packed everything back up and headed over to the marina. When we got there, we went into the store and purchased a few bags of popcorn then came back out to feed the few fish that were in our area. Max found a couple duck friends to feed too.
When the popcorn was gone, we headed back into Boulder City and went to the Southwest Diner on the main street. The food was good. I was the only one that got lunch... nachos. Everyone else got breakfast. Waffles for my kids and french toast for Eli.
After lunch, we drove up the road a little ways, parked and walked around. We spent some time in one of the antique stores. The teens thought the signs throughout the store were pretty funny. Only because the use of parenthesis on certain words wasn't necessary. We also walked through the Western & Mexican Center and the Flying Saucer store (nothing too exciting).
We headed to Chilly Jilly'z next for a treat. Thanks to the crappy traffic, it took us about 30 minutes to go the couple of miles to get there. When we finally got there, Kenzie got a Dole Whip, Madi got a malt, Max served himself some frozen yogurt and I got a diet coke and also a pecan bar and magic cookie bar to share with Darric. Eli only wanted a water. Traffic was still slow until we got to the Railroad Pass Casino, but not as slow as it was before. We got home just after 5:00 and after Darric.
Madison must've eaten something that didn't agree with her because she was sick the rest of the evening. The rest of us went and picked up Laurita's for dinner and brought it back home to eat.
