i feel like such a blog slacker.
saturday mackenzie had her good friend's birthday/pool party to go to. so we ran to target for a present. then, because they didn't have any SUPER cute swimsuits, we ran out to old navy. mackenzie really wanted a two piece so on the way in, i told her she could get one only if the top covered up her belly. we go in and i find a really cute one piece and she finds this two piece with skulls on it. we go and have her try them on and of course, she LOVES the two piece and HAS to get it. i was a little upset about it. in the car she tells me "mom, i'm old enough to start picking out my own clothes now." i came home and told darric and he agreed with her. he said that maybe she thinks the stuff i pick out is embarrassing. that can't be true. can it? not yet. anyways, she had a really fun time at the party. we (the rest of the family) stayed home and ordered villa, then darric and i got cold stone after picking mackenzie up. it was yummy.
sunday we celebrated jude's birthday. dan put together a great little party. jan made a beautiful cake. the kids and aunt daneane showed off their talents in the talent show. max did some awesome manly push-ups (he had perfect form). don't know where he learned them from. we all ate jan's delicious cake. presents were opened. then we headed home. darric and i finished off our cold stones.
monday was jude and mason's birthdays. happy birthday you two. mason was in disneyland without us. hopefully the two of them had a wonderful day.
the rest of the week has kind of been a blur. i did go to jodie's recipe swap/jewelry party on tuesday night. fun. this time we brought appetizers. i made spinach dip. i ate a lot of spinach dip that night and the next day. darric took madi to her first intermediate tumbling class. he got to see how fun it was to entertain max for 45 minutes in a large hallway. wednesday night was tennis for mackenzie, park for the other two and little Caesars for dinner. thursday, finally got back to the gym after missing two days. had a good laugh with max's new phrase. instead of saying no, he now says "totally not". madison wrote a note to her teacher today telling her how she was so close to being able to do the splits. her teacher typed her a note back, it was very nice.
tomorrow's friday. yeah.
