Let's flash back, waaaayyyyy back.
Probably to 1978-79. I don't know exactly how old I am in this picture. One or two years old. My mom could tell ya.
This is me. Bald and angry. I don't know if I was really angry, but I was definitely bald. Bald until after I turned two years old.
Of course, I don't remember getting this picture taken. But, I do remember this picture hanging on my grandma's wall in her bedroom. She had a picture of each of her grandkids up there. In one of those frames where you take cardboard, cover it with batting and put a nice fabric over that and hot glue it all down. I believe her fabrics were in browns and tans. Some kind of floral, I'm sure.
Now there was something special about these picture frames. Not only did they hold her beautiful grandchildren, but they also held money. Behind each one. I don't remember how much, but I think we used to compare with each other to see who had the largest amount.
The reason for me sharing this o-l-d picture (it may be old, but I wouldn't be surprised if my dad still had one in his wallet) is because I was talking to Jodie tonight. About how fun I thought it would be to get together with my family and look through old photos and reminisce. Now that Halloween is over, I'm already starting to get in the Christmas mood. And for some reason, around Christmas time, I want to pull out old photos/old VHS tapes and curl up on the couch and enjoy with family.
Christmas of 2005, I collected Darric's mom's photos and after dividing them all into groups of each family member, I scanned them all into my computer and made a DVD. On Christmas Eve, we all watched it together and I gave everyone their own copy.
I'm hoping to do this for my family this year (or next). I just know how many photos I would have to go through and that may end up taking a long time. I think it will be a fun process.
