MON | 13 Met my mom, Jen, Jodie and Posie at BJ's today to celebrate Jodie's birthday. I had a wedge salad/mini pepperoni pizza lunch combo. It was good. The time change must have been rough on Posie, she couldn't keep her eyes open long enough for dessert. We got the Pizookie Trio with a chocolate chunk, mint chip and salted caramel. The salted caramel was very good. (*Joe is loving the warmer days)
TUE | 14 It was Pi Day today and I only remembered because I helped Max with his homework last night. He had to copy the first 500 numbers of Pi onto a paper plate and then decorate it (he made it look like a pumpkin pie). Then he had to memorize the first 25 numbers and recite to his teacher today. He did it and even got one extra number. 3.141592653589793238462643
I ran to Wal-Mart this morning to get stuff to make a pie for dessert. A Sweet + Creamy Lemon Pie. This was the first time I used this recipe and I wasn't sure it was going to turn out because it was still pretty jiggly after cooking it for an hour, but it tasted alright. We ate it after we got home from Max's soccer practice and after picking Madison up from Silverado. She just got back from the boys' game at Valley.
Madison also had an ortho appointment today at 2:30. Everything looks good and she'll be getting her braces off in three weeks!! Kenzie went to a track meet at Silverado to watch Eli and meet his mom and sister.
WED | 15 I had been gathering St Patrick's themed items to put in a package to send to Jacob at school (BYU Idaho). But when I looked into how much shipping would be (to get it there in time) I was a little shocked and couldn't justify spending $30. So I put the Jimmy Johns GC and tattoos in an envelope and sent that instead.
Kobe was excited to ride with me to pick Max up from Joey's. Joe was in the other room when we left and when we returned, he didn't look very happy with us. Kenzie went to practice tonight at Green Valley, but called for us to come pick her up early because she wasn't feeling well.
THU | 16 I took my car in at 8:00 this morning. I was due for an oil change and the air conditioning hasn't been working right AGAIN. So Darric had to come pick me up from the Buick dealership and I used his truck until about 4:00, when my car was done. His truck was covered in dirt still from our last off-road excursion and I couldn't handle it anymore, so Max and I washed it. (And it only took us a half hour)
We paid for Kenzie's AP Calculus test online today (she doesn't take it until May, but it has to be paid for now). It cost $93 + $6.51 to pay online. Madi had to be at Silverado for the boys' volleyball game and Max had soccer practice. He's doing so much better now that he's getting things figured out. He even made a goal tonight that he was pretty proud of. Kenzie didn't go to her practice because she still wasn't feeling well.
FRI | 17 Happy St. Patrick's Day!! After Madison pinched me (and I went and threw on a green necklace) she had a bowl of Lucky Charms. She usually doesn't have time to eat breakfast. Kenzie stayed home from school because she wasn't feeling well and because she had to be at Whole Foods to meet her team for a San Diego tournament at 1:00. (She had a late day today and would have only had time to go to one class before I'd have to pick her up.) I got her some Nyquil and cough drops and we crossed our fingers that she'd be able to sleep off the sickness and feel better the next day. But, it didn't work out like that. She still wasn't feeling well on Saturday and didn't play at all. They stayed at the Doubletree Golf Resort on this trip. Kenzie roomed with Lydia and Maya. They had CPK for dinner, but Kenzie didn't even feel good enough to eat her salad. Her team only won one out of the four games they played so they will be going down to division 5 now. :(
SAT | 18 Today was a busy day. Ben + Liz (and Rex + Leo) are moving to Oklahoma at the end of this month. So mom had a little going away party so we could all see them before they left. It was at noon, but we went over a half hour early because we had to leave early. Darric played some dodgeball with the kids. It was him (and sometimes Quincy) against Max, Mason, Beckam, Piper and Cassidy. He wasn't taking it easy on the boys and the boys weren't taking it easy on him either. We had sandwiches for lunch and then had to leave around 12:45. I was bummed we couldn't stay longer. But, I was able to get some pictures from those that did stay.
Max's second soccer game started at 2:00 at Anthem Hills again. We were supposed to be there at 1:30 (we were a few minutes late). Mason came with us and Madi got to come too. It was hot today. We weren't prepared for the harsh sun on our white bodies. Darric and Madi got it the worst.
Max did even better this week. He is getting the hang of things, until his coach puts him in at a new position. I think he played four different positions this game. Even though Max is one of the few kids that comes to every practice and shows up on time, he still gets taken out three or four times with a few of the other boys. He may not be an experienced soccer player, but he hauls butt when he's on the field (the complete opposite of some of the kids that play for the full hour). They lost again this week. 1-7. Which is a little better than last week and Max is still having fun, so YAY!!
We had Cafe Rio for dinner and around 7:30, the kids and I drove out to the Silver Bowl to meet up with Jen and watch Grace's soccer game. It's been awhile since we've watched one of her games. They're on a different level now. It was fun to watch. Mason wanted to stay the night, so he came back with us and we stopped at Starbucks on the way home because he was begging to get us all a drink. Darric returned shortly after we did. He had to go pick Kenzie up from Whole Foods.
SUN | 19 I made bar pancakes this morning. The boys jumped on the trampoline some more. Max was able to teach Mason how to do a back flip. Darric and I ran to Home Depot for air filters. We picked up some weed killer too. I sprayed both sides of the house. You would never know that I just pulled all the weeds a week ago. And I was not about to sit and pull them all again (who knows how many times). Hopefully I sprayed enough.
Later, Kenzie went with Eli to Town Square. They ate at Claim Jumper and then saw the movie, Before I Fall. Max went with Mason and his family to Sweet Tomatoes and then to see Beauty and the Beast. Darric, Madison and I got stuff to BBQ at home and we watched some March Madness basketball. Madison made a chocolate cake because Darric was craving chocolate cake with chocolate frosting (so boring).
