i love traditions. i love having something fun to look forward to year after year. one of the items on my 2017 to-do list this year is to start three new traditions. and here is my first one... bowling on new year's day. we invited the bertrands to come bowl with us at the southpoint this year. all four of them got to come join us.
after rolling their first ball this turn, madison and jayce both had the same three pins standing. and then they both rolled their second ball into the right side gutter.
max was mixing up techniques, trying to find the one that worked the best. not sure the side kick was a keeper.
and kenzie tried the squat-before-every-roll again, just before she threw the ball down the lane as hard as she could. sometimes she knocked pins down and sometimes she just got the ball into the gutter really fast.
darric was very excited to have some bowling alley chicken fingers. looks like he was pretty excited about the fries and ranch too. the rest of us shared a greasy pepperoni pizza.
we bowled two games. madison deleted the first game right after we finished so i'm not sure what those scores were. but i bet they were pretty similar to the second game where darric kicked our butts. kenzie was the one that put our names in. she gave her dad a good chuckle as he came back from the restroom and looked at the screen.
our first annual new year's day bowling was a success. unless you ask max. (hopefully by next january he'll forget how frustrated he got from not being able to get strikes on every turn.)
